ArmInfo. In the first half of 2020 "Armenal" plant provided the highest indicator for the entire period of foil-rolling production in Armenia. Thus, according to the Statistical Committee of the Republic of Armenia, during the reporting period, the production of aluminum foil increased by 13.7% in y-o-y terms (against 5.8% decline in the previous year), amounting to 17 443 tons.
According to statistics, in June alone, the production of aluminum foil increased by 3.3% - up to 2,925 tons. There is no data on the production of rolled aluminum in the statistical report for the six months.
It should be noted that Armenal plant is the only foil producer in the republic, which is part of RUSAL, one of the world's largest aluminum companies.
To recall, in Armenia, the production of aluminum foil in 2019 increased by 7.7% - up to 30,547 tons, against a 14.5% decline in 2018. It is noteworthy that the excess of volume of 30 thousand was recorded for the second time, and for the first time this was observed at the end of 2017 with a volume of 33 724 tons.
