Armenia fully fulfills obligations on repaying Eurobonds in the  amount of $ 700 million

ArmInfo. Armenia has fully redeemed the debut issue of Eurobonds in the amount of $ 700 million,  the issue of which took place in September 2013 on the international  capital market. According to the RA Ministry of Finance, after the  redemption in 2015 and 2019 from this issue, respectively, $ 199.9  million and $ 402.4 million, bonds in the amount of $ 97.7 million  remained in circulation.

On September 30, 2020, the RA Ministry of Finance fully redeemed this  issue by paying $ 100.6 million, including coupon payments for $ 2.9  million.

To recall, the debut issue of Armenian Eurobonds took place on  September 19, 2013, in the amount of $ 700 million, with a maturity  of 7 years - until September 30, 2020. The yield on the placement was  6.25%.  The government repaid the stabilization loan taken from  Russia in the amount of $ 500 million ahead of schedule. The main  underwriters were Deutsche Bank AG, London Branch, HSBC Bank plc and  J.P.  Morgan Securities plc.

The second tranche of sovereign bonds in the amount of $ 500 million,  with a maturity of 10 years and with a yield of 7.5%, Armenia issued  on March 19, 2015. Proceeds from the second issue of Eurobonds  amounted to $ 488 million. Part of the amount received from the sale  of these bonds, in the amount of $ 199.9 million, was used to buy out  the first issue of Eurobonds with maturity in 2020.  The third  tranche of sovereign bonds in foreign currency in the volume of $ 500  million, with a coupon yield of 3.95% and a maturity of 10 years,  Armenia issued on September 19, 2019. From the placement of the 3rd  tranche, which took place on September 26, 2019, $ 489.9 million was  received, and at the same time, a partial redemption of $ 402.4  million of foreign currency bonds of the 1st issue took place, for  which $ 427.9 million was paid (including the amount of coupons).  J.P. Morgan Securities plc and City bank were the main underwriters  of the 3rd issue of the Armenian Eurobonds. To ensure accessibility  not only to foreign, but also to local investors, sovereign Armenian  Eurobonds of the 3rd issue began to be quoted in November on the AMX  Armenian Stock Exchange. Local investors' access to Armenian  Eurobonds was opened thanks to the active cooperation of the Central  Depository of Armenia (CDA) with a partner, Clearstream Banking  Luxemburg.
