Telecommunication operators of Armenia for 9 months of 2020 increased  tax payments to the state budget by 13.1% per annum.

ArmInfo. In January-September 2020, the four telecom operators of Armenia paid a total of 23.3 billion drams to the budget through taxes, which is 13.1% more than a  year ago. Of this amount, 11.8 billion were paid by direct taxes  (including income tax, tax on income) and 9.9 billion - on indirect  taxes (including VAT, excise tax).

According to the RA State Revenue Committee, the leader among  communication operators in Armenia is "MTS Armenia" (VivaCell-MTS  trademark), which paid AMD 10.4 billion to the state treasury in  January- September 2020, of which AMD 22.6 million - for customs  duties, 3.4 billion AMD - for direct taxes (including income tax, tax  on income), 4.4 billion AMD - for indirect taxes (including VAT,  excise tax). In the general list of 1000 largest taxpayers, "MTS  Armenia" (VivaCell-MTS trademark) moved up to the 9th position from  the 16th year earlier.

VEON Armenia (Beeline trademark) allocated 6.3 billion drams to the  budget in taxes, of which more than 5.1 billion in income tax. In the  general list of 1000 largest taxpayers of VEON, Armenia moved up to  13th place from 18th a year earlier.

UCom, which transferred 5.5 billion drams to the budget in taxes, of  which 21.5 million drams - for customs duties, 1.3 billion drams -  for direct (including income tax, income tax) and 2.1 billion drams -  for indirect (including VAT, excise tax), went down in the general  list of 1000 largest taxpayers to 17th place from 13th a year  earlier.

GNC Alfa (Rostelecom trademark), paid 1.2 billion drams to the budget  in taxes, of which 2.3 million drams - for customs duties, 553.7  million - for direct (including income tax, income tax) and 621.7  million - for indirect (including VAT, excise tax), having jumped in  the general list of 1000 largest taxpayers to 113th place from 167th  a year earlier.

In the total volume of tax revenues of 1000 large taxpayers, the  share of the four telecom operators accounted for 3.2% (versus 2.7% a  year earlier).

Let us recall that in January-September 2019, the four telecom  operators in total paid over 20.6 billion drams to the budget through  taxes, of which 8.1 billion drams for direct taxes and 9.5 billion  drams for indirect taxes. At that time, UCom was the leader among  operators in terms of tax payments, followed by MTS Armenia, VEON  Armenia and GNC Alfa.
