ArmInfo. Our state is credit-oriented; over the past 8 years, the economy has been growing due to loans from commercial banks. Director of the Banking Management School Ashot Osipyan announced this during a zoom conference organized by the Club of Economic Journalists on December 9.
, he said, noting that this is extremely important for the economy.
The economist named telecommunications, mining, projects for the construction of processing plants, which require capital investments, and the field of information technology (IT) as priority industries for organizing the Road Show. He noted that for this, the state body, in particular the Ministry of Economy, should "take the hand" of the private sector and show the way. "Money won't come to Armenia just like that. We need to fight and do pilot programs, "he stressed.
Ospiyan also noted that there is a need to strengthen the banking system, in particular by revising the law on bank secrecy, which will attract more investments, deposits and loans.
He noted that today negative expectations have formed in the state in terms of economic development, which, according to him, must be neutralized. In particular, in this vein, Osipyan emphasized that it is necessary to develop 2 doctrines: political and economic, so that there is an understanding of what place Armenia occupies and in which direction it intends to move, which is extremely important for investors.
