Y-O-Y devaluation of dram against dollar in December 2020 amounted to  8.5% with inflation of 3.7%

ArmInfo.3.7% inflation in the consumer market of Armenia in January-December 2020 was accompanied by a devaluation of the dram against the dollar by 8.5%, while a year  earlier in the same period inflation in the consumer market was only  0.7% with the revaluation of the dram against the dollar by 1.3%.

According to the Statistical Committee of the Republic of Armenia, in  December 2020 inflation of 3.4% was accompanied by a 3.9% devaluation  of the dram against the dollar (against 1.3% inflation and 0.2%  devaluation of the dram against the dollar in December 2019). In  December 2020, the average settlement rate was 518.9 AMD / $ 1,  against 478.2 AMD / $ 1 in December 2019.

It should be noted that in the retail foreign exchange market of  Armenia, the AMD / USD exchange rate as of December 30, 2020 was  522.5 AMD / $ 1 on average, against 479.7 AMD / $ 1 as of December  30, 2019.
