ArmInfo. The maximum volume of natural gas was injected at the Abovyan underground gas storage (UGS) station in accordance with its design capacity. This was reported by the press service of "Gazprom Armenia" CJSC.
The source notes that the volume of natural gas accumulated at the Abovyan underground gas storage station is used to ensure uninterrupted and reliable gas supply to the consumer market, as well as to regulate seasonal irregularities in gas consumption.
In winter, the daily consumption of natural gas is 12-13 million cubic meters, while the maximum daily gas extraction capacity from UGS facilities is 6.0 million cubic meters. As a result, when the supply of natural gas to the republic was interrupted due to emergency repairs on the main gas pipeline "Red Bridge - Sevkar-Berd", CJSC "Gazprom Armenia" was forced to limit the supply of gas.
By temporarily stopping gas supply to the AFGS filling station and the Yerevan TPP, the daily consumption of which is about 1.3 and 1.0 million cubic meters, respectively, in this situation, Gazprom Armenia CJSC provides gas supply to household (population) and other consumers. In general, earlier the interruptions in the supply of natural gas were planned, and restoration work was carried out mainly in the summer, when the extraction of natural gas from the Abovyan UGS satisfied the daily demand of the consumer market of the republic - on average 5-6 million cubic meters.
