ArmInfo. The national postal operator of Armenia, the state-owned company "Haypost" CJSC (Armpost), is creating a subsidiary credit company "Post Credit". As noted in the statement of the operator, a corresponding application has been submitted to the Central Bank of Armenia for registration of a financial company and licensing.
"Haypost", according to the five-year development strategy developed by the international consulting company Deloitte, in the near future, through its subsidiary Post Credit, intends to launch an active activity in the financial market.
The new credit company will provide affordable financial services in the country, new approaches to the lending market, and will also become an important factor in the implementation of the global program "Armpost" under the slogan "In a village, like in a city". Subsidiary financial company of "Haypost" will provide new types of credit services and financial products, "the message says.
According to the source, Post Credit credit company will carry out activities in the following main areas: consumer lending and agricultural lending programs, lending to small and medium-sized businesses specializing in manufacturing and trade, as well as family businesses, and loans for the development of renewable energy and green economy.
The amount of the authorized capital of the new financial company has not yet been reported. It should be noted that currently there are 44 credit companies in the financial market of Armenia, 39 of which are in the status of universal credit organizations (UCO). With the entry of "Post Credit", the number of UCOs in Armenia will reach 40.
"Haypost" was taken over by the state last year in connection with the completion of the concession agreement with the "Post Trust" company, owned by an Argentinean businessman of Armenian origin Eduardo Eurnekian. Eurnekian's attempt to create on the basis of "Haypost" CJSC a financial structure in the form of a postal bank for synergy of postal and financial services was not crowned with success. Now, most likely, the state will try to implement this concept in the person of the Ministry of High-Tech Industry of Armenia, which is in charge of Haypost CJSC.
