ArmInfo.  The Food and  Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) has launched an  emergency program in Armenia for vulnerable populations affected by  the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict in Armenia.

According to the message received by ArmInfo, the project will be  implemented jointly with the Food Safety Inspectorate of the Republic  of Armenia and the Ministry of Economy in order to quickly respond to  the interventions of the Government of the Republic of Armenia, to  fill the gaps in them.

Assistance will be provided through agricultural investments such as  feed, equipment and supplies for the construction of temporary  shelters for displaced farm animals.

"The program is important because it provides a quick response, but  additional support is needed in the coming growing season," said FAO  Representative in Armenia, Raymond Yellen.

It should be noted that after the Karabakh conflict, displaced  families according to various estimates, imported into Armenia, from  12,000 to 55,000 cows, from 60,000 to 90,000 heads of small  ruminants.
