39 settlements of Armenia, which became bordering after the war, will  be included in the social assistance program

ArmInfo.39 settlements of the Syunik and Gegharkunik regions of Armenia, which became borderline after the war, will be included in the program of social  assistance to residents of border communities. According to the  Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs of the RA, the draft decision  was approved by the government of the country.

According to the source, for about 14 thousand residents living in  the above-mentioned settlements, the tax on real estate, and 50% of  the costs for natural gas, electricity and irrigation water used from  February 1, 2021 will be reimbursed. School textbooks will be  distributed free of charge to students living in border areas.

To note, last year the Armenian parliament adopted a law on the  inclusion in the program of 36 settlements bordering with Azerbaijan  in Tavush, Ararat, Gegharkunik and Vayots Dzor regions. The law  provides for compensation for 50% of the cost of electricity (up to  1450 kWh per month), natural gas (up to 360 cubic meters), irrigation  water (no restrictions). In addition, residents of these areas are  fully exempted from paying land tax and property tax until 2024. And  for senior students, textbooks are given either free of charge or  with partial compensation of 50%.
