ArmInfo. The Minister of Economy of Armenia Vaan Kerobyan awaits the growth of the tourist sphere for the year by 300%. He stated this in a conversation with journalists.
Recalling that last year the sphere survived a serious decline, the minister said that already in March there was significant activity, whereas a year earlier there were no tourists in Armenia. In this regard, he said that in connection with Novruz, the influx of Iranian tourists was registered in Armenia.
In addition, Kerobyan said that for April in the chain of hotels Armenia there is a large number of bookings, and in May, normal growth rates are expected, however, somewhat inferior to the dynamics of 2019.
It should be noted that according to the RA Stat Committee, in the tourist purposes in 2020, 375,126 people visited Armenia, which is lower than the indicator of annual statute of 80.2%.
