USAID will provide additional $ 8.2 million to Armenia for  implementation of program to improve quality of infrastructure  services

The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) will additionally provide Armenia with $ 8.2 million for the implementation of the program to  improve the quality of infrastructure services. The corresponding  draft decree of the RA President on introducing the 15th amendment to  the grant agreement "More competitive and diversified private  sector", concluded between the governments of the USA and Armenia,  was approved at the meeting of the RA Government on July 1.

According to the substantiation certificate to the document, it is  assumed that the Agreement will be extended until September 30, 2025.  "At present, the American side has allocated an amount of  $91,800,980.41," the document says.

It is noted that the introduction of the 15th amendment, which  implies an additional appropriation of 8.2 million, was signed on May  12, 2021. As a result, the amount provided under this agreement will  be $100,000,980.41. The funds will be used to support programs to  improve infrastructure services such as energy and water supply.

On August 6, 2010, a grant agreement was signed on US assistance to  the RA government through the US Agency for International Development  (USAID). During 2010-2020, about 14 amendments were made to the  agreement. Funding focused on private sector development, financial  sector assistance, and infrastructure programs.
