Vahan Kerobyan and Denis Manturov discussed possibilities of  deepening Armenian-Russian trade and economic relations

ArmInfo.Acting Minister of Economy of Armenia Vahan Kerobyan held talks with Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation Denis Manturov.   According to Kerobyan himself, the meeting took place in a warm and  friendly environment.

"We discussed a number of important issues aimed at deepening the  Armenian-Russian trade and economic relations, as well as cooperation  in the field of industry.  We also touched upon the revitalization of  the work of the working group jointly created by the Sverdlovsk  region and Armenia in 2020. We discussed the prospects for the work  of Russian companies in the free economic zones of Armenia, as well  as the possibility of their participation in the production of solar  panels in the republic, "Kerobyan said on his Facebook page.

It should be noted that according to the data of the Statistical  Committee of the Republic of Armenia, Russia holds the leadership in  Armenia's foreign trade turnover with a volume of $ 656.9 million in  January-April 2021, with an acceleration of y-o-y growth from 2% to  2.4%. Russia retains leadership not only in this indicator, but also  in exports and imports - $ 220.9 million and $ 436 million,  respectively, with the change of the  y-o-y export dynamics from  11.3% decline to 20.9% growth and with a change of the import trend  from 8.1% growth for 4.9% decline.

In the foreign trade turnover of Armenia, the share of Russia  decreased on a y-o-y terms from 31.7% to 30.3%. Negative foreign  trade balance of Armenia with Russia decreased by 22.1% to $ 215.1  million
