Papikyan announces investments in Gyumri in amount of about $ 8.5  million

ArmInfo.In Gyumri, investments of about 4.3 billion drams are expected. Acting Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructures Suren Papikyan announced this on his Facebook page.

According to him, the funds will come within the framework of the  "Development of Local Economy and Infrastructures" program financed  by the RA government and the World Bank. "The works aimed at  improving Gyumri and strengthening the tourism potential of the  cultural capital are continuous. An unprecedented scope of work is  envisaged," he said.

In particular, the streets of Khanjyan, Tchaikovsky, Achemyan,  Anesoghlyan, Jivani, Teryan and Nalbandyan will be repaired. It is  also planned to restore "Haghtanak" Avenue, carry out preparatory  work for the reconstruction of the "Barekamutyun" Park, restore the  right and left sections of Abovyan Street, as well as the territory  adjacent to the Church of the Holy Savior. The cost of all these  works will be 4.3 billion drams (about $ 8.5 million).

Papikyan reports that within the framework of this program, repair  work has already been carried out in Gyumri on Shiraz, Varpetats,  Jivani, Gorganian and Abovyan streets.
