Head of Central Bank of Armenia met with President of Council of  Ministers of Italy

ArmInfo. Governor at the Central Bank of Armenia Martin Galstyan, within the framework of the state visit of RA President Armen Sargsyan to Italy, met with the President of the Council of Ministers of Italy Mario Draghi. ArmInfo was  informed about this by the press service of the RA Central Bank.  During the meeting, issues related to the financial sector and the  economy were discussed, the importance of steps to deepen further  cooperation was noted.

The interlocutors also discussed other issues of bilateral interest.

To note, according to the RA Statistical Committee, Italy is among  the TOP-5 foreign trade partners of Armenia, and takes the lead among  the EU partner countries. Thus, the foreign trade turnover between  Armenia and Italy for 8 months of 2021 exceeded $ 182.7 million,  having increased by 22% on a y-o-y terms. Italy is listed in the  TOP-5 and in terms of imports - $ 145.4 million, with a y-o-y growth  of 16.5%.  At the same time, the volume of export of Armenian goods  to Italy amounted to $ 37.3 million, having increased on a y-o-y  terms by 49%. Among the partner countries of Armenia from the EU,  Italy is the leader in terms of imports, and takes the 4th place in  terms of exports.
