Tigran Khachatryan and Carolin Geginat discussed prospects of  cooperation between  RA Government and World Bank

ArmInfo. On October 8, Minister of Finance of Armenia Tigran Khachatryan received a delegation led by Country Manager of the World Bank for Armenia Carolin Geginat.

According to the press service of the Ministry of Finance, during the  meeting the parties discussed a wide range of issues related to the  process and prospects of cooperation between the RA Government and  the World Bank. In particular, they touched upon the priorities and  current programs of the World Bank's strategy with the Republic of  Armenia, aimed at the public sector, public financial management, as  well as issues related to the revision of the expenditure policy.

The World Bank in its "World Bank. 2021. Europe and Central Asia  Economic Update, Fall 2021: Competition and Firm Recovery  Post-COVID-19" report published in October, improved its forecast for  Armenia's GDP growth for 2021 from the previous 3.4% to an updated  6.1%, offering economy in the phase of economic recovery, gradually  phase out government support measures and focus on creating a  competitive business environment, which is a key aspect for a stable  recovery, resilience to future crises and long-term economic growth.
