ArmInfo. Since 2018, the Armenian government has consistently increased the share of investments in subvention programs. Deputy Prime Minister of Armenia Suren Papikyan, who previously held the post of Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructures, said this in an interview with Public Television.
In particular, he said that in 2018, 150 subsidy programs were implemented with 3.84 billion, of which 1.6 billion were from the government's share.
In 2019, the number of programs reached 463, the volume - 17.46 billion drams, where the government's share increased to 9.5 billion drams.
In 2020, amid the war and the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic, 580 subvention programs were implemented for 26.24 billion drams, of which the government's share were 14.3 billion drams.
According to Papikyan, in 2021, 678 programs worth 48.4 billion were approved and are being implemented. At the same time, 23.2 billion drams were allocated by the government. "That is, the government's investment in subvention programs is from 40 to 60%," he stressed. At the same time, the Deputy Prime Minister also touched upon the consolidation of communities, noting that this process is proceeding quite flexibly and well. In particular, he noted that consolidation will help strengthen communities, including due to the effective implementation of subvention programs. As a result, as Papikyan noted, 68 communities will remain in the country, which, in his words, is quite a normal indicator for Armenia.
