ArmInfo. The construction of the Sisan-Kajaran and Kajaran- Agarak sections envisages the construction of 2 tunnels, 14 large bridges and numerous kilometers of roads. Deputy Prime Minister of Armenia Suren Papikyan said this, noting that a tender has already been launched to start construction work on this site.
In particular, he said that the length of the tunnels will be unprecedented and will be 9 km. "That is, we will enter Sisian and through 2 tunnels will find ourselves in Kajaran," the Deputy Prime Minister said.
Papikyan also touched upon the construction of the M2 bypass road linking Kapan and Tatev (Tatev- Aghvan). The deputy head of the government said that a significant part of the work has been completed (43 km of roads). At this stage, a small section of up to 1 km in length is being built in the village of Verin Khotanan. "This will allow us to move freely from Kapan in the direction of M2, in the direction of Yerevan," Papikyan said. However, he noticed that in winter there will be small obstacles for heavy vehicles at the section of the Tatev turns. "But we are trying to regulate this too," the Deputy Prime Minister assured. At the same time, he informed about the construction stratum of the 18-kilometer section Tatev-Ltsen, which will connect with the M2 road, bypassing the turns of Tatev. In addition, according to the Deputy Prime Minister, there are current programs for the construction of roads in the Republic with a total length of 500 km.
