ArmInfo.Weighing systems for trucks on the go will be installed along Armenia's main roads, Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructures Gnel Sanosyan told a news conference on Nov. 10.
About 1,500km of rods have been renovated in the country over the last few years. Since truck can damage the road surface, the Ministry initiated a legal process. The minister noted that the systems will record overloaded vehicles, which implies legal responsibility of companies and individuals operating the vehicles.
The ministry plans to change exit and entry procedures. The minister noted that entry fees are paid now, but the ministry plans to set fees for the n umber of kilometers traveled by vehicles. "We are holding discussions now. We want to introduce two systems a once. If we cannot simultaneously launch both processes, we want to introduce a truck weighing system first," Minister Sanosyan said.
