Armenia considers possibilities of expanding economic cooperation  with California State

Armenian Minister of Economy Vahan Kerobyan and California State Senator Anthony Portantino, representing Senate District 25, discussed today the  possibilities of expanding economic cooperation between Armenia and  California. Head of the RA Economic Department Vahan Kerobyan  announced this on his Facebook page.

In particular, he said that during the conversation, issues related  to cooperation in agriculture, various industries and trade were  discussed.

It should be noted that in September 2019, a Framework Agreement on  Cooperation between the Republic of Armenia and the State of  California was signed in New York, according to which comprehensive  cooperation in all areas is expected.

On August 17, 2021, California Assembly member Chris Holden presented  a resolution establishing brotherly relations between the state of  California and the Syunik region of Armenia. The resolution intends  to promote mutually beneficial exchange in the educational, economic  and cultural spheres. The document was co-authored by Senator  Portantino.

According to the RA Statistical Committee, the foreign trade turnover  between Armenia and the United States for 9 months of this year  increased by 42.7%, amounting to $ 137.3 million. Exports grew by  30.9% to $ 61.6 million, while imports grew by 54% to $ 75.7 million.
