ArmInfo.On December 8, Chairman of SRC Rustam Badasyan hosted a delegation led by Head of Iran's Customs Administration Mehdi Mirashrafi who had arrived in Armenia for a working visit, reports the press service of the RA State Revenue Committee.
Rustam Badasyan and Mehdi Mirashrafi made a tour of the area of Meghri Checkpoint, got familiarized with the conditions created for servicing those engaging in foreign economic activity and citizens. The chairman of the SRC and the head of the customs administration were shown the procedures for proper organization of all phases of border crossing.
During the meeting, Badasyan and Mirashrafi discussed issues of mutual concern in customs cooperation, simplification of customs procedures between the two countries, and the steps directed at improvement of conditions for cargo transportation. The parties discussed possibilities of preliminary exchange of information, mechanisms for raising the efficiency of fighting smuggling, and they stressed the necessity for activating even further direct interaction between the heads of the border checkpoints of Norduz and Meghri.
In the context of the visit, a private meeting will take place on December 9 in Yerevan between Rustam Badasyan and Mehdi Mirashrafi.
