Armenia increases export of horticultural crops by 38.5% over year

ArmInfo. As of December 14, Armenia exported 201.8 thousand tons of fresh vegetables and fruits to foreign markets, which is 38.5% higher than a year ago, and 41.3%  more than in 2019.

This is stated on the official Facebook page of  the Ministry of Economy. In particular, the leaders in the export of  Armenian agricultural products this year are potatoes, the supply of  which amounted to 48 thousand tons, followed by apricots (over 35  thousand tons) and tomatoes (about 35 thousand tons). At the same  time, the Ministry explained the growth of tomato exports by  expanding the area of greenhouse farms. Annual growth of volumes has  been registered for all the above-mentioned crops.

A decrease in supplies was recorded for cucumbers, which is  associated with logistical problems that still affect the volume of  Armenian agricultural exports.

In general, for the whole of 2021, according to the forecasts of the  economic department, the volume of export of Armenian agricultural  products will be about 210-215 thousand tons.
