EU to allocate EUR 4 million to develop quality of infrastructures in  Armenia

ArmInfo. The Ministry of Economy of Armenia signed a program document with the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) on assistance to Armenia in the development of infrastructures. A total of 4.1 million euros  were allocated for the implementation of the project, of which 4  million euros falls to the EU and 100 thousand euros to UNIDO.   Minister of Economy of Armenia Vahan Kerobyan announced this on his  Facebook page.

Within the framework of the project, 4 calibration laboratories with  appropriate measuring instruments and equipment will be created in  Armenia, which will be prepared for international accreditation.  The  implementation of the program in Armenia, he said, will eliminate  technical obstacles to trade and will contribute to improving the  life quality of people. "The program will assist in the modernization  of the metrological system of Armenia through the institutional  strengthening of the National Body for Standardization and Metrology,  and will expand Armenia's participation in international and regional  metrological communities, as well as its relations with the European  Association of National Metrology Institutes (EURAMET)," he said.

According to the Minister, as a result, the quality of manufactured  goods in Armenia will improve and international recognition of the  measurements and tests carried out in the country will be ensured,  which will help improve the life quality of people and contribute to  the expansion of trade with the EU and other countries.
