ArmInfo. Last year, the ARMENAL plant's environmental investment totaled AMD 45mln (over $94,000).
Most of the funds were used for clearing the adjacent territory of the construction waste. The rest was spent on a land-improvement project and soil analysis in the industrial waste storage area of the Kanaker aluminum production plant.
"This year we plan to improve an area of 3.5 hectares," said Vahe Tamazian, Head of the ARMENAL Occupational Safety Department.
In 2020 and 2021, ARMENAL's environmental investments totaled $8mln. The funds were spent on the AirPure system and new cooling stacks, which reduced water consumption ten times. ARMENAL is one of Armenia's industrial enterprises and the only producer of aluminum foil in the South Caucasus and Central Asia. The plant was founded using the facilities of the Kanaker aluminum production plant, which was put into operation in 1950.
