ArmInfo. Turkish low-cost airline Pegasus Airlines has opened sales for the Istanbul-Yerevan flight, which will operate three times a week. A representative of the air carrier reported this to a TASS correspondent.
"Sales in this direction have begun, the first flight is scheduled for February 2. It is expected that there will be three flights a week," the source said.
Earlier, the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure of Turkey announced the opening of air communication with Armenia from February 2. On January 10, the Civil Aviation Committee of Armenia agreed to operate flights on the Yerevan-Istanbul-Yerevan route.
Despite the common border, there are no diplomatic relations between Armenia and Turkey. In 1993, Turkey unilaterally closed its air and land borders with Armenia. The air border was opened in 1995. In 2009, in Zurich, the foreign ministers of the two states signed protocols on the establishment of diplomatic relations and on the principles of relations, but these documents were not ratified. On March 1, 2018, Yerevan announced the annulment of the protocols
