Armenia, Slovakia to sign agreement on economic cooperation

ArmInfo. At the February 3 sitting, the Armenian government approved the proposal to sign an agreement on economic cooperation between the governments of the  Republic of Armenia and the Slovak Republic.

According to the source, the Agreement provides an opportunity to  develop and deepen long-term economic relations between the two  countries on the basis of equality, mutual benefit in such areas as  industry, tourism, energy, agriculture, forestry, small and  medium-sized businesses, transport and infrastructure , environmental  technologies, digitalization, etc.

"The signing of the Agreement will contribute to the development of  mutually beneficial cooperation between the two countries, creating  favorable conditions for expanding economic ties, increasing business  activity, using the existing potential in the field of economic  cooperation between the two countries. The agreement provides for the  development and diversification of mutually beneficial cooperation in  all areas of mutual interest. The agreement also provides for the  creation of a joint working group," the document reads.

It should be noted that diplomatic relations between Armenia and  Slovakia were established on January 14, 1993. On May 15, 2015 in  Bratislava, an Agreement was signed between the Government of the  Republic of Armenia and the Government of the Slovak Republic on the  exclusion of double taxation of income and property and on the  prevention of tax avoidance.
