RA Deputy PM comments on  rise in value of US dollar

ArmInfo. The rise in the value of the United States dollar and, accordingly, the devaluation of the national currency is the result of an emotional shock that does not  contain anything fundamental. Deputy Prime Minister of Armenia Mher  Grigoryan expressed this opinion on March 2 during the Government  Hour in Parliament.

Tadevos Avetisyan, a member of the Hayastan opposition faction,  pointed out that the US dollar has gradually risen in price over the  past few days. Thus, according to the Rate.am website, the minimum  purchase price of a dollar in Armenian banks is 488 drams (cash type  of exchange), the sale price is 510 drams.

"This is an emotional shock, an emotional phenomenon and does not  contain anything fundamental, at least as of yesterday, today, and  probably tomorrow. Rest assured that this is so, since there have  been no macroeconomic changes that contribute to the devaluation.  This is normal phenomenon," the Deputy Prime Minister of the RA  government explained.
