ArmInfo. More flights from Russia to Armenia are carried out daily, the RA Civil Aviation Committee told ArmInfo.
Amid the sanctions, Russian airlines are facing a grave situation. Numerous flights have been cancelled, with many directions closed. Just a month ago, several Russia airlines, including Aeroflot, Ural Airlines, S7, carried out flights to Armenia. But they have now stopped flights to Armenia because of leasing problems.
The RA Civil Aviation Committee reports that a number of airlines - Red Wings, Azimuth, IrAero, Ikar Airlines, Nordwind, Utair announced their plans to carry out more flights to Yerevan from different Russian cities. Armenian airlines, such as Fly One Armenia, Armenia, Armenia Airways, Shirak Avia, carry out flights to Armenia as well. So the number of daily flights has increased twice (22 to days ago, and 24 the day before yesterday) since sanctions were imposed on Russia.
Armenian airlines' plans
The Armenia airline could not report the exact number of flights as it depends on demand during specific periods. The number of flights to Moscow has shown a 10%-15% increase. The airline also carried out charter flights to Saint Petersburg.
On March 1, FlyOne Armenia started regular Yerevan-Moscow-Yerevan flights. On March 14, the airline increased the number of flights from to five a week. The airline also plans to start flights to Saint Petersburg and, after Russia's aviation authority removes restrictions, to Russia's south.
On March 14, ticket prices were higher than before. Airlines points to price stabilization.
