Armenia, Russia discuss issues of ensuring food security

ArmInfo. Armenia and Russia discussed issues of ensuring food security.  Head of the Armenian Economic Department Vahan Kerobyan announced on his Facebook page,  following a meeting with the Minister of Agriculture of the Russian  Federation Dmitry Petrushev. The interlocutors discussed the  possibility of increasing the turnover of agricultural products and  food products.

It should be noted that the lion's share of Armenian agricultural  products is traditionally supplied to the Russian market.

Meanwhile, as economist Karlen Khachatryan previously stated, no  concrete steps are being taken in Armenia on the issue of food  security. As an example, he recalled that a significant amount of  wheat is supplied to the Armenian market from Russia, and corn - from  Ukraine. Khachatryan drew attention to the fact that there will be  problems with the transportation of these products in military  conditions. In addition, these states will be faced with the task of  ensuring domestic consumption in the first place, and only then  thinking about supplies to other countries. Khachatryan noted that  objectively, this cannot but cause concern.
