Aghan Avetisyan: Phishing attacks can be avoided by not providing  personal data to third parties

ArmInfo. Today, there are numerous phishing methods, but they can be avoided simply by not providing your personal data to third parties. Aghan Avetisyan,  Director of the IDram Financial Observation Center, said this at the  joint online conference of IDBank and IDram on information security,  answering a question from an ArmInfo correspondent.

He noted phishing attacks as the most common attacks carried out  through phone calls, e-mails, fake websites, social networks and  their various manifestations.

Avetisyan drew attention to the fact that when targeting a specific  group of people, fraudsters know which method to apply to a specific  client segment.

In turn, IDBank Digital Banking Director Sergey Arakelyan noted that  the Bank is taking steps to protect customers from phishing as much  as possible. He spoke about cases when fraudsters open fake websites  that demanded from citizens not only payment and settlement data, but  also various data from other platforms and systems in order to  transfer . "As a result, it turned out that the client  himself provided hisher data to the scammers," he noted.

In this context, Arakelyan, addressing the citizens, insisted to  check the platforms from which such messages are received, in  particular, whether the latter are equipped with a high degree of  HTTPS protection, at the same time, he urged to contact the  financial institutions through whose tools citizens try to use these  services. " This is necessary to find out if this is your partner or  not, and how reliable heshe is. I believe that our specialists and  partners will be happy to provide the necessary information so that   customers do not become victims of fraudsters>, he said.  During the  online conference, head of the Communications Department of IDBank  Tatevik Vadevanyan also noted the importance of improving the  financial literacy of the population, which should be carried out not  only by financial bodies and individuals. According to Vadevanyan  state participation in this issue is also necessary, in particular,  through activities to improve literacy in the use of network,  financial tools.

Speaking about fraudulent schemes in lending, head of the legal  department of IDBank Artur Melikyan emphasized that one of the most  common of them is providing loans through intermediaries.

In this context, Melikyan stated that IDBank does not provide loans  through intermediaries. Loans are issued only within the framework of  bilateral contacts with the client - either when visiting the Bank,  or through IDBank's online lending system. , he said.  In this regard,  Sergey Arakelyan noted that the IDBank online lending system has been  operating for a year and a half. According to him, during this time  about 850 thousand loans were issued, of which over 50 thousand are  unique clients. At the same time, the number of citizens affected by  fraudsters in the framework of obtaining online loans reaches 150,  for which criminal cases have been initiated.  IDBank has been  operating in the Armenian market since October 1996. At the moment,  the Bank is one of the most innovative companies in the financial  market of Armenia.
