Transactions on purchase and sale of real estate in Armenia by  foreigners increased by 31.6% over year

ArmInfo. In Q1 2022, 1,046 real estate purchase and sale transactions were made in Armenia by foreigners, which is 31.6% higher than a year ago. At the same time,  foreigners accounted for 8.6% of the total number of transactions  (instead of 7.2% a year earlier).

According to the Cadastre Committee of the Republic of Armenia, as  always, the number of foreigners selling real estate exceeded the  number of buyers. In particular, during the reporting period, 689  non-residents entered into transactions for the sale of real estate,  318 - for buying, and 39 - for both purchase and sale. As a result,  in the first quarter of this year, foreigners bought 357 properties  and sold - 728 properties.

At the same time, the lion's share in terms of buying real estate by  foreigners falls on apartments - 44.3%, followed by land (22.4%), own  houses (17.1%), garages (6.7%), buildings of public value (5.6%), and  the lowest percentage falls on the purchase of industrial buildings  (3.9%).  Both in buying and selling, apartments account for the  largest percentage - 44.5%, followed by land (28.2%), private houses  (21.4%), garages (2.9%), public buildings (2.6%), and the smallest  number of sales accounted for industrial buildings (0.4%).

The most active buyers and sellers of real estate in Armenia are  citizens of the Russian Federation, the United States, Iran, a number  of European countries and the CIS.
