
ArmInfo. Asphalt carpet is being laid along the Lanjik-Gyumri section under the North-South road construction programme (Tranche 3). The Road Department Fund reports that a 100-meter section is being covered now, and the work will be continued after lab tests show positive results.
A 31-km section of the 556-km-long North-South motorway has so far been constructed.

Armenia's government signed a loan agreement with the European Investment Bank in November 2013. the France-based consulting company Eegis and Sinohydro, a Chinese state-owned hydropower engineering and construction company, carried out design work.
The European Investment Bank allocated EUR 60mln, the EU Neighbourhood Investment Facility (NIF) granted EUR 12mln and Armenia's government allocated a total of EUR 16.2mln for the Lanjik-Gyumri section (23km).
