Armenian government will expand funding for state assistance programs  in agricultural sector

ArmInfo. The Armenian government will allocate additional funding for the implementation of state assistance programs in the field of agriculture. The decision was  made on July 7 at a Cabinet meeting.

As stated in the explanation to the document, in order to ensure the  fulfillment of obligations arising under the support programs  implemented in the field of agriculture, as well as to ensure their  continuity, the government decided to allocate an additional AMD  5,951,599.3 thousand for the implementation of a number of  activities. Of these, AMD 230,900.0 thousand will be allocated from  the revenues received from official grants, AMD 5,714,069.3 thousand  - from the reserve fund.

In particular, the approved budget of the program for subsidizing the  interest rate on loans to the agro- industrial complex for 2022 is  AMD 9.8 billion, of which AMD 5 billion were paid as of June 1 of  this year. According to calculations, the financing required to  fulfill the obligations will amount to AMD 12.3 billion, that is, an  additional 2.5 billion drams is needed.

The approved budget of the state support program for the  implementation of the pilot program for the introduction of the  agricultural insurance system for 2022 is AMD 307.9 million, of which  AMD 183.5 million were actually allocated. As of March 31 of this  year, applications for a subsidy in the amount of AMD 438.8 million  were received, that is, the obligations will amount to AMD 255.3  million. In addition, according to the forecasts of insurance  companies, there will be requests for subsidies for another AMD 100.0  million, that is, additional financing required under the program  will amount to AMD 230.9 million .  At the same time, applications  for the amount of AMD 721.9 million were submitted for 2022,  applications for 307.9 million drams were approved.
