Armenia, ADB discuss new cooperation prospects 

ArmInfo. Armenia's Government and the Asian Development Bank (ADB) have discussed new cooperation prospects, according to a report on the results of Armenian  Vice-Premier Hambardzum Matevosyan's meeting with ADB Country  Director for Armenia Paolo Spantigati. 

The sides discussed a number of issues of mutual interest. Mr  Matevosyan highlighted the importance of thee long-term assistance to  Armenia by the ADB, particularly in the context of reforms. 

The sides emphasized the project of earthquake-resilient schools. The  project is improving and strengthening at least 46 schools. Mr  Matevosyan also emphasized the ADB's involvement in funding  infrastructure projects, particularly the road construction project  North-South Road Corridor and Sustainable Urban Development. 

Mr Spantigati considers the ADB's cooperation with Armenia effective. 

The ADB started cooperating with Armenia in 2005. As of March 2020,  the bank's loans and grants to Armenia totaled $1.6bln. The funds  were directed to developing Armenia's transport, financial, energy  and other infrastructures.
