Kerobyan: More than 50,000 Russian IT specialists arrived in Armenia

ArmInfo.Over 50,000 Russian IT specialists arrived in Armenia. Armenian Minister of  Economy Vahan Kerobyan stated this in an interview with RTVI.

As a result, about 850 companies with Russian capital and 350  individual entrepreneurs (IEs) have registered in Armenia. In  general, 40 thousand legal entities and individuals opened about 100  thousand accounts in Armenian banks.

He also said that the top 20 IT companies - the largest taxpayers in  Armenia - included several recently opened companies associated with  Russia. I In particular, in this regard, Kerobyan mentioned TeamWork,  which is a subsidiary of Perm Miro company in Armenia, which  developed the team collaboration platform of the same name; , which developed software development tools and user interface  components for international vendor DevExpress; the American graphics  card developer NVIDIA, which has stopped sales in Russia and opened  an office in Armenia and will also build a research center here;  opened an office in Yerevan in July and is expanding its  staff in Armenia.

At the same time, Kerobyan noted that "an acute shortage of highly  qualified and experienced developers (senior engineer) in Armenia has  been replaced by a shortage of newcomers (junior). , he added.

At the same time, the minister noted that Armenia "is not trying to  be" a "tax haven" for immigrants. , Kerobyan said.

He stressed that the influx of Russians brings "great benefits for  the economy" and "a significant contribution to the development of  society."

The minister said that the state is trying to create a good  environment for people who are generally in a bad situation.  According to Kerobyan, before all these well-known events, a plan had  already been worked out to transform Yerevan into a city of  opportunities for talented people. , he concluded. 

It should be noted that according to the Statistical data, in the  first half of the year 3,770 foreign citizens received a residence  permit in Armenia, of which 2,319 had a temporary status, and,  accordingly, 1,451 had a permanent status. At the same time, the  overwhelming majority of those who received a residence permit are  citizens of the Russian Federation - 1,059 people. (257 - temporary  status, 802 - permanent status).
