ArmInfo.Under the 2023 draft budget, AMD 23bln (about $56mln) will be allocation to subvent programmes in Armenia's regions (the AMD/USD exchange rate is 404.74/$1), Armenia's Premier Nikol Pashinyan stated at a Cabinet meeting on Thursday.
"We have increased the funding of programmes 10-fold as compared with 2018. That year we allocated AMD 25bln, in 2019, AMD 6.4bln, in 2020, AMD 14bln, last year, AMD 12.3bln and this year, AMD 18bln," the premier said.
Thus, a total of $100mln have been invested in Armenia's regions since 2018. "We must make this instrument as effective as possible," Mr Pashinyan said.
Most of the applications are aimed at investments in Armenia's communities - improvement works on streets, public gardens, playgrounds, as well as construction and renovation of public buildings, palaces of culture, kindergartens, construction and renovation of water-supply lines, night-time illumination facilities, gas-supply of residential districts, energy-saving measures.
