Construction of Kapan-Chakaten bypass road in Syunik region of  Armenia has been completed

ArmInfo. The construction of the Kapan-Chakaten road in the Syunik region of Armenia has been completed, the Road Department Foundation reports.

<The construction of the Kapan-Chakaten bypass section of the M-17  (M-2) Kapan-Tsav highway has been completed. The length of the  section is 7.48 km>, the report says.

Some sections of the former Kapan-Chakaten road after the 44-day war  and the withdrawal of troops in December 2020 were under the control  of Azerbaijan. So, from 00:00 on November 15, 2021, an Azerbaijani  checkpoint began to operate on the Kapan-Chakaten road in the Syunik  region. As a result, the transport communication between the villages  of Chakaten, Srashen, Shikahogh, Tsav, Shishkert and Nerkin HAnd was  stopped.
