
ArmInfo.Armenia's Minister of Economy Vahan Kerobyan participated in a meeting of the ministers of economy of the EAEU member-states.
Mr Kerobyan presented the development trends in the Armenian and global tourist industry, as well as Armenia's view of tourism development in the EAEU.
In addition, the meeting participants discussed a number of issues related to technological progress, labor productivity, digital transformation, climate change, the role of nano, bio- and digital technologies in the 6th industrial transformation, etc.
Recall that on February 2, a narrow meeting of the Intergovernmental Council of the Eurasian Economic Union was held in Almaty, and on February 3, a meeting in an enlarged meeting is to be held.
Last year, a total of 1.67mln tourists visited Armenia - a 2-fold growth as against 2021 and several times as many as in 2020. However, in 2019, Armenia hosted 1.89mln tourists. Most of them (46%), followed by Georgia (11%), Iran (7%), USA (3%), Germany (1%).
