ArmInfo. Minister of Economy of Armenia Vahan Kerobyan received newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Portugal to Armenia Madalena Fischer. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Economy.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the directions and areas of effective cooperation between Armenia and Portugal, in particular, noting in this regard the green economy, renewable energy, SMEs and tourism. Kerobyan and Fischer pointed to the high potential of the Armenian-Portuguese trade and economic relations, which should be realized.
It is reported that the Minister presented to Ms. Fischer the current programs implemented by the Ministry and the high economic indicators of the Republic of Armenia registered recently.
It should be noted that the foreign trade turnover between Armenia and Portugal in 2022 amounted to $12.5 million, which is 54.4% higher than a year ago. It is worth noting that 99.9% of this volume is accounted for by imports, the volumes of which increased by 64.4% year-on-year.
