British Shell to enter Armenian market

ArmInfo. Shell, a British oil and gas company will enter the Armenian market. Minister of Economy of Armenia Vahan Kerobyan stated this in an interview to the Public Television of Armenia.

In particular, according to him, already in March the company will  open 3 modern petrol stations in Armenia. "We have been working with  the company for quite some time. Their entry was very difficult,  given the restrictions associated with the fact that fuel must be  imported from Europe>, the minister said.

He stressed that Shell will be competing with lower-performing local  industry companies that will need to transform quickly to survive  this competition.  Considering that Shell operates with high  standards, Kerobyan said that the company will completely change the  sector and contribute to the increase of competitiveness.

Shell is one of the largest oil and gas companies, which is engaged  in the extraction and processing of oil and gas around the world.   The transnational corporation (TNC), headquartered in London, is  exploring new fields, extracting and transporting oil and gas,  including shale deposits, and participating in projects for the  production of liquefied gas. It has an extensive trading network. It  is also involved in green projects - energy production using wind and  sun, as well as the creation of biofuels.  In 2022, Shell ranked 16th  among the largest public companies in the world, according to Forbes.   According to the company, as of December 2021, its 82,000 employees  worked in more than 70 countries around the world.
