ArmInfo. A new cooperation strategy between the Government of Armenia and the Asian Development Bank (ADB) is under development. This was stated during the meeting of Armenian Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Khachatryan with the ADB delegation headed by the Director of Armenia Office Director of the Asian Development Bank Paolo Spantigati.
According to the press service of the government, during the meeting the parties exchanged views on the main directions of the strategy being developed.
The Deputy Premier noted that the Asian Development Bank has been and remains one of the key partners of the Government of Armenia in the context of reforms. He touched upon the course of programs implemented with the support of the Bank, noting the importance of large infrastructure projects. At the same time, Khachatryan pointed out the need for the duration of the implementation of initiatives aimed at the exchange of experience and knowledge between the public and private sectors.
Paolo Spantigati noted that the Bank is ready to continue assisting the Government of the Republic of Armenia in the implementation of initiatives aimed at developing infrastructures, the energy sector, healthcare, education, etc.
It should be noted that as of April 2022, the Bank provided Armenia with loans, grants for technical assistance in the amount of about $1.6 billion, which were directed to the development of transport, financial, energy, water sectors, infrastructures, etc.
