ArmInfo. Twenty-three Armenian wine-making companies are participating in the ProWein international trade fair in Dusseldorf, March 19 to 21.
The Vine and Wine and Foundation of Armenia (VWFA) reports that the first day of the fair was eventful for Armenian wine-makers - the Armenian pavilion hosted numerous visitors, new contacts were established.
Armenia's Ambassador to Germany Viktor Yengibaryan visited the Armenian pavilion as well.
The ProWein international trade fair was first held in 1994 and has since been held every spring.
The Armenian companies are participating under one pavilion thanks to the (VWFA).
Companies from 60 countries are participating in the fair.
Last year, Armenia's wine output totaled 12.6mln liters - a 3.4% decline as compared with 2021. In 2020, Armenia's wine output totaled 13.3mln liters (an 18.8% growth).
According to Armenia's Customs Service, in the first half of 2022, Armenia's wine exports exceeded 1.6mln liters (a 14.7% growth as compared with 2021). The customs values reached $5.8mln (a 15.5% rise). Germany's share in Armenia's wine exports was 1.2%.
