The Government of Armenia has developed an action plan, one of the key documents of which is the Green and Sustainable Economic Development Strategy, which is at the final stage of development, and we will soon be able to start implementing it. This was stated by the Minister of Economy of Armenia Vahan Kerobyan in the forum titled "Innovative Financial Instruments and the Private Sector's Role in Fueling Green Business" organized by the Shtigen group of companies.
The minister also added that at this stage, a guide to "Green taxonomy" is also being developed. Kerobyan, in his welcoming speech, also touched upon the approaches of the Ministry of Economy to the role of private and institutional capital in the development of a green economy in Armenia.
According to the source, during the conference, a panel discussion was held, during which the trends in the development of green energy in the world and Armenia, the challenges of green financing, as well as the role of pension and venture funds in overcoming them and attracting private capital, were presented. Shtigen was founded in 2011 with the aim of increasing the level of energy security and independence of Armenia, reducing the cost of energy produced and services provided in the country, as well as improving the environment. The company provides over 150 jobs.
