
ArmInfo.Armenian Minister of Economy Vahan Kerobyan received Jason Buntin, Director for Europe and Middle East Affairs at the Office of the United States Trade Representative (USTR), and Laura Buffo, Deputy Assistant US Trade Representative for Generalized System of Preferences (GSP).
As Kerobyan himself said on his Facebook page, during the meeting with representatives of the USTR, a wide range of issues on the agenda of the Armenian-American economic cooperation was discussed. In particular, the interlocutors touched upon issues related to strengthening economic ties between Armenia and the United States, increasing trade turnover and diversifying exports, as well as exporting goods through the Generalized System of Preferences (GSP).
It should be noted that according to the RA Statistical Committee, the foreign trade turnover between Armenia and the United States in 2022 increased 2.2-fold, amounting to $464.7 million. At the same time, exports decreased by 4.4% to $78.2 million, while imports increase of 3.1-fold to $386.5 million.
