SRC Head: At this stage, preparations are underway for flexible  launch of customs procedures on Armenian-Turkish border

ArmInfo. At this stage, preparatory work is underway for the flexible launch of customs  procedures at the Armenian-Turkish border. Chairman of the State  Revenue Committe of Armenia (SRC) Rustam Badasyan announced this  during a briefing on April 6.

Recalling the talks on opening the interstate border for third-country nationals and persons with diplomatic passports, Badasyan noted that the Committee, together  with other state bodies, is doing everything possible to make the  border checkpoint operational as soon as possible if a decision is  made.

In July 2022, the special representatives of Armenia and Turkey  agreed to establish air cargo transportation and open the interstate  border for citizens of third countries. In January 2023, the ban on  direct air cargo transportation between countries was lifted.  In  February 2023, during a joint press conference with Turkish Foreign  Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu, Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan  announced that Yerevan and Ankara had agreed to jointly repair the  Ani Bridge, as well as take care of the relevant infrastructure in  anticipation of the full opening of the border.  At the same time,  Mirzoyan once again confirmed Armenia's readiness and desire to build  peace in the region and, in particular, to fully regulate relations  with Turkey, establish diplomatic relations and fully open the border  between Armenia and Turkey
