
ArmInfo.At this stage, preparatory work is underway for the flexible launch of customs procedures at the Armenian-Turkish border. Chairman of the State Revenue Committe of Armenia (SRC) Rustam Badasyan announced this during a briefing on April 6.
Recalling the talks on opening the interstate border for third-country nationals and persons with diplomatic passports, Badasyan noted that the Committee, together with other state bodies, is doing everything possible to make the border checkpoint operational as soon as possible if a decision is made.
In July 2022, the special representatives of Armenia and Turkey agreed to establish air cargo transportation and open the interstate border for citizens of third countries. In January 2023, the ban on direct air cargo transportation between countries was lifted. In February 2023, during a joint press conference with Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu, Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan announced that Yerevan and Ankara had agreed to jointly repair the Ani Bridge, as well as take care of the relevant infrastructure in anticipation of the full opening of the border. At the same time, Mirzoyan once again confirmed Armenia's readiness and desire to build peace in the region and, in particular, to fully regulate relations with Turkey, establish diplomatic relations and fully open the border between Armenia and Turkey
