Attaching importance to providing the general public with objective, reliable and fact-based information in the financial and banking sector, the Union of Banks of Armenia for the fourth year in a row holds a competition to determine the best publications to encourage academics, experts, journalists to cover relevant topics in the financial and banking sector in their activities.
The jury, which included representatives of Armenian banks, determined the best publications at the end of 2022 in three categories "Best Scientific Article", "Best Analytics" and "Best Journalistic Content". In addition, banks established special nominations and incentive prizes.
Thus, a special nomination for many years of experience and active analytical work in the financial and banking sector by Ardshinbank, Armbusinessbank and Evocabank was awarded to the head of the financial information service of the "ArmInfo" IA Karina Melikyan.
At the same time, correspondent of "ArmInfo" IA, economic journalist, member of the Club of Economic Journalists Naira Badalian became the winner in the nomination "Best Journalistic Content" for an article in ArmInfo about banking secrecy.
Congratulating the winners of the competition, Chairman of the UBA, Chief Executive Officer, Chairman of the Executive Board of ARARATBANK OJSC Mher Ananyan thanked the journalistic community, representatives of the academic community for many years of effective cooperation. , he said.
In turn, Executive Director of the Union of Banks of Armenia Seyran Sargsyan noted that the information published in the media, in particular on financial and banking topics, is not always impartial, reliable and comprehensively presented. "Instead, we are faced with information that misleads the public," he said.
, Sargsyan noted. In this regard, the executive director of the UBA expressed readiness on behalf of the Union for active cooperation with the journalistic community and academic circles.
In the nomination "Best Scientific Article" the winners were the post-graduate student of the Department of Management Accounting and Audit of the Armenian State University of Economics Armen Hambardzumyan and the student of the Department of Actuarial and Financial Mathematics of the Faculty of Mathematics and Mechanics of the Yerevan State University Mesrop Mesropyan, who presented a scientific article on the topic: "Supervisory stress testing as a new financial risk management tool for Armenian commercial banks>.
The work of Associate Professor of the Department of Finance of the Armenian State University of Economics, Ph.D. in Economics Edgar Aghabekyan - was recognized as the best analytics.
