ArmInfo. Armenia may become an operator in the Iranian port of Chabahar. Minister of Economy of Armenia Vahan Kerobyan announced on his Facebook page.
In particular, as the minister notes, according to the decision of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia, an interdepartmental working group was established to discuss the possibilities of launching high- speed international multimodal cargo transportation and implementing operator activities in the Iranian port of Chabahar.
Kerobyan said that under his leadership, the first meeting of this group was held on June 1, during which the participants presented their research on this topic and made various proposals regarding the lease of territories in the port of Chabahar, the establishment of the Armenian side as an operator in exchange for investments, the provision of logistics services.
It should be noted that the interdepartmental group included the deputy ministers of economy, foreign affairs, territorial administration and infrastructures, representatives of the Security Council, the State Revenue Committee and the Ministry of Finance, as well as the customs attache at the Armenian Embassy in the Russian Federation and the Armenian trade attache in Iran.
