Armenian-Spanish agro-industrial forum started its work in Yerevan

ArmInfo. The Armenian-Spanish agro-industrial forum started its work in Yerevan. According to the  press service of the Ministry of Economy, before the start of the event, Deputy Minister of Economy of Armenia Arman Khojoyan received representatives of the leading agricultural companies in Spain, who  will take part in the event.

It is reported that the parties discussed the possibilities of  cooperation, in particular, in the production of greenhouses, modern  irrigation systems and fertilizers.

During the meeting, Arman Khojoyan presented the policy implemented  in the field of agriculture and state support instruments, and the  members of the delegation spoke about their products and services  provided in the field of agriculture. The Deputy Minister expressed  readiness to study all proposals for bilateral cooperation and to  promote the implementation of possible joint initiatives.

It should be noted that the Forum was organized by the Vine and Wine  Foundation of Armenia and the Spanish Chamber of Commerce.

Earlier the Ministry of Economy reported on the participation of 8  Spanish agricultural enterprises in the Agro-Industrial Forum in  Yerevan, working in the areas of production of greenhouses,  irrigation systems, fertilizers, IoT sensors for plants, trellises  for vineyards and other orchards.

It should be noted that according to the RA Statistical Committee,  the foreign trade turnover between Armenia and Spain in January-April  2023 decreased by 5.4% to $27.5 million. At the same time, exports  increased 2.7-fold to $3.3 million, against a 13% decline in imports  to $24.2 million.
