Germany is interested in expanding cooperation with Eastern Partnership states, Mr Jens Brandenburg, Parliamentary State Secretary to the Federal Minister of Education and Research of Germany, stated at his meeting with Armenia's Deputy Minister of Economy Rafael Gevorgyan. German Ambassador to Armenia Viktor Richter attended the meeting as well.
According to the source, during the meeting, the parties discussed areas of cooperation that are more promising in the context of effective development and exchange of experience, in particular, diversification of energy sources, renewable energy, production and transportation of green hydrogen, solar energy, etc.
Presenting to the guests the priorities of the government program for 2021-2026, Rafael Gevorgyan noted that the economic policy of the state is aimed at developing a knowledge-intensive and innovative economy.
This January-May, Armenian-German trade totaled $295mln (92.9% growth). Exports totaled $40mln (a 14.2% decline), with imports totaling $225mln (a 2.4-fold decline).
