
ArmInfo. In H1 2023, crop production in Armenia increased by 10%. Minister of Economy of Armenia Vahan Kerobyan stated during his visit to the Armenian Walnut enterprise, which is engaged in the cultivation of walnut orchards.
In this regard, he stressed that the natural and climatic conditions of our country fully satisfy the development of crop production, and as a result, the volume of crops obtained from intensive orchards has doubled and reached a significant size.
"Agriculture and intensive agriculture have a great future, and today there are many investors who are ready to stimulate the development of this sector in Armenia," the minister said.
The press service of the Ministry of Economy informs that 3 years ago intensive walnut orchards were planted in the village of Aygeat in the Lori region in Armenia on an area of 80 hectares. The latter are cultivated using Israeli technologies with a drip irrigation system. The total volume of the investment program was $2 million.
