ArmInfo. Armenia's Minister of Economy Vahan Kerobyan hosted Mr Hojjatollah Abdolmaleki, Secretary of the Supreme Council of Free Trade-Industrial and Special Economic Zones of Iran.
According to the press service of the government, during the meeting the parties discussed a wide range of issues of bilateral cooperation within the framework of free economic zones, touched upon logistical problems, and noted the need to develop bilateral cooperation in various fields. In addition, issues related to international cargo transportation from the Persian Gulf to the Black Sea were discussed. As a result of the meeting, an agreement was reached to take steps to simplify the procedure for cargo transportation between Armenia and Iran. This January-June, Armenian-Iranian trade totaled $344.2mln (an 11.8% growth). Exports totaled $53.6mln (a 7.5% decline) and imports, $290mln (a 16.3% growth).
